the classical form and glazed white ceramic finish of the salt vessel draws from the past.

in contrast, the polished cast aluminium finish of the pepper vessel and the detail present in the spouts imply modernity.

by combining these elements, the set can exist independently from or complement a traditional crockery collection.

the relationship between the two pieces can be interpreted as a metaphor for old and new coming together, as inseparable as salt and pepper.
