aa stool 2007

Initial Concept:
Inspired by the work of Alvar Aalto, this stool makes use of two raw materials of the Modernist era, concrete and plywood, evolved into the current day equivalents. The stool requires the user to exist without them the stool reverts back to it’s original form.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete block with flexible crossgrain plywood, Rawl bolt
fixings. Finished in clear satin polyurethane with felt base.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete block with laminated crossgrain plywood, flush fitted Rawl bolt fixings. Finished in clear satin polyurethane with felt base.
